We are setting the tone for the Wildemanbuurt: beginning with the new Notblok!
The post-war Wildemanbuurt neighbourhood in Amsterdam-West, like many neighbourhoods from this period of reconstruction is in need of renewal. We won a selection from Stadgenoot for the first wave of renewal in this area. With the Notblok, we are adding additional apartments tailored to the diversity of people in the neighbourhood, all coming together in the warm welcoming atmosphere of the building.
Focus on participation
Our plan caught the jury’s eye because of our focus on participation. We are now proving this in practice: Merve, Ties, and Jeroen are regularly found in the neighbourhood, listening to residents’ concerns, wishes, and learning about neighbourhood’s current initiatives. This is how we’re ensuring residents’ voices shape the design of the first new apartment block in their neighbourhood.
Spring day
Our design is reminiscent of a spring day on the Mediterranean. A warm colour palette of soft yellow and red gives the neighbourhood a warm and cheerful feel. Colourful plinths tell the stories of the neighbourhood.
We are developing the Notblok in collaboration with Stadgenoot and the Municipality of Amsterdam.
