In ‘The Orange Yard’ young and old can continue to live in the village
With our winning design, Het Oranje Erf (The Orange Yard), we’re introducing a collective residential building to Wezep. The 28 homes for first-time buyers and long-time residents will help keep the village vibrant. Thanks to this project, both young and old can continue to live in their own community.
The homes are divided over three buildings creating a communal courtyard with an orchard and garden. Neighbours can meet on the gallery or in the communal living room with a cup of tea. Need a moment for yourself in the sun? Enjoy it on your private balcony. The collective character of Het Oranje Erf brings young and old together.
The concept of a collective residential building is new in a village where most of the houses are ground-floor. By basing the design on local farms and making the courtyard accessible to the neighbourhood, the project will integrate seamlessly into the village fabric of Wezep.
We couldn’t have won this tender on our own. The Oranje Erf is being developed in collaboration with: Heutink, MAAK Space, Gouderdom, and Ed Bijman.
